About NT
Conveyancing licences started in 1993 when the Agents Licensing Act was amended to include Conveyancing. A new Act has since been enacted dealing specifically with Conveyancers.
The late Jeff Hockley (a conveyancer licensed in SA at the time) opened Hockley Wu Conveyancing Services. Other early starters were Bill Palmer and Nick Thomas.
AIC NT Inc was started by Jeff Hockley almost immediately after licences were available in 1993, with membership steadily expanding since as licence numbers grew.
AIC NT is one of six State Divisions of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers. The other Divisions are in New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.
